Last few weeks...

Paul showing off his fire truck tattoo

We've been busy the last few weeks with Labor Day camping, marathon training, and general "last days" of summer fun! Here's a few cute pictures to enjoy!

Baby Sierra

Laura, Shane, and Sierra came for a visit over Labor Day weekend...Laura actually came a week early with Sierra and we were able to spend some quality time together which was great! Sierra is such a mellow, happy, and adorable baby! Paul warmed up to Sierra as he spent more time around her and the new game he likes to play is "Baby Sierra"...he likes to pretend to put her to bed, wake her up, change her diaper, etc. I'm looking forward to our next visit with the Prunty family!

It's all about...

comfort while I'm learning this "potty" business. My camo boots and big truck book help.

Auntie Marissa

Marissa helped Ryan with his booth during the fair a few weeks ago and was able to spend a little time with Paul as well. She came over for supper after putting in a long day at the fair and Paul was really excited to see her! He wouldn't go anywhere without her and would only come to the dinner table to sit next to Auntie 'Rissa!
It was so fun to watch them play together! Marissa played numerous games of hide/seek and the two of them were having a blast. Paul is really into hide/seek lately and understands the concept but sometimes gets to excited to wait to be "found"...for example, you'll hear him shout out, "I'm in the closet!" while you're searching for him. His new favorite place to hide is in the bathtub (Marissa's great hiding spot) which is what he was doing in the above photo. It was a really fun night!

Marathon training

We are less than five weeks away until the big race! It's been a fun experience but I'll be glad when the race is completed. The training has been going pretty well but it is very time-consuming and it's taken some careful organizing and some VERY early mornings to stick to the training program. I've really enjoyed my new running friends and it's been really nice to have a "group" to do the long runs and boy, we've had some long ones!

That little speck running is really me...Rosie's husband (who checks up on us on many of our long runs) took this photo as we were doing on 19 miles . What a guy! He and Rosie's two children cheer us on and make sure we have enough water, etc. It's always fun to see them and it helps during the rough patches!

We made it! Smiling after our 19 miles! These are my running gals, Rosie and Heidi

A lovely side effect of so many miles...just fall off already, toenail!

A "refreshing" bath after a long run! I take an ice-bath after every long run and it's amazing how much better my legs feel. It's supposed to reduce inflammation and speed up recovery for your legs. The first couple of times were absolutely miserable but I've actually gotten used to them and I couldn't wait to plunge in after our run last Sunday!
